Steve O’Hara is the President and Owner of Northern Support Services, Inc. which he started in 2013. Steve is NICET Level IV S.O.A. certified in Fire Alarm Systems. Steve is the lead designer and is directly associated with all projects from start to finish. With over 20 years in the industry he has had experience with small to very large scale projects; with systems ranging from $5K to $1M. Steve has designed and worked with fire alarm systems, voice evac systems, high rise applications, smoke control and special systems, cameras, secure accessing, sound, intercom, and nurse call systems. Steve’s industry experience coupled with his time spent directly managing integration projects has provided him a respectful knowledge of a wide range of system platforms and their functionality. Steve believes in keeping the product in control of the owner; he strives to keep the functions simple and usable.

Tiffany O’Hara is a lifelong native Alaskan with strong leadership skills and a passion for influencing a positive change. She has over 12 years of experience in the life safety and fire protection industry. Prior to joining Northern Support Services, Inc. Tiffany managed a $5M service business that spanned the state of Alaska.

John Ryan brings to Northern Support Services, Inc. an extensive skill set in Fire Alarm commissioning. He specializes in the EST product, is extremely knowledgeable and provides best in class customer service. John is NICET Level II certified in Fire Alarm Systems. John was born and raised in Anchorage. He graduated from a 2 year Electronics program in 1986 and has been active in the fire alarm industry since. He is fluent in commissioning security, camera & sound systems. When John arrives on site you are going to have a likable person that is approachable and committed to the job.

Jeremy Bassett joined Northern Support Services, Inc. in February 2017. He brings a strong skillset of installation and service expertise of low voltage systems including fire alarm, security, CCTV, and access control systems. Jeremy also adds to the team a vast understanding of IT and networking skills. Jeremy is NICET Level II certified in Fire Alarm Systems.

Jefferson joined Northern Support Services, Inc. in September 2020. During his time here, he has honed his skills in Fire Alarm Systems from job walkdowns to design and everything in between.

Jefferson holds a State of Alaska IB permit for maintenance, service, and installation of FAS. He’s also EST certified on iO, EST-3, EST-4, and VESDA fire alarm systems, and has passed his NICET I, II and III tests for certification in FAS.
Prior to joining NSS, Inc, Jefferson spent over 15 years in Oil and Gas Engineering, specializing in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Fire & Gas projects for Alaska’s largest oil companies.

Jefferson is a life-long Alaskan and resides in Anchorage with his wife, two daughters, and mini-golden doodle, Walker. Currently enrolled in Eastern Kentucky University, Jefferson is on track to graduate in December 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection & Safety Engineering Technology.

Amy started her design journey at the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she graduated from a CIDA-accredited program with a B.F.A. in Interior Design. Since moving to Alaska in 2010, her design background has offered her many unique career experiences ranging from staging a newly constructed apartment complex to designing the set of a pop-up restaurant on a mountain top. Each experience has provided a unique set of exiting design challenges!

In 2021, she joined the team at Northern Support Services to expand her career into fire and life safety design. With her skill set in CAD, design and construction she has developed a fluent understanding of life safety, NFPA, EST systems. She has grown with understanding construction practices and interfaced with permit and AHJ’s throughout the community. Amy has been involved and obtaining NICET certification, IFC and IBC trainings – as well, as a member of ICC and BOMA for NSS.
